Here are some answers to questions frequently asked about the rebranding.
In October we will be changing our name and look from Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd (CCG) to Adra.
Our focus has always been to deliver quality homes and services for everyone. We have exciting plans for the future. We’ve recently launched our new Corporate Plan with ambitious targets that include building an extra 550 houses by 2022.
It’s now time, we feel, that we also have a serious look at our branding. We know we need to appeal to a wider audience, so that who we are and what we do is better understood. Focus groups confirmed that our current name and identity was not understood, and tenants did not relate to it. In many ways it was holding us back.
In October we’ll introduce a new identity which includes a name change for the company. This means specifically saying goodbye to our current name, Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd or “CCG” as we are often called. Adra will be our new name. Adra was chosen after focus groups, including tenant representatives, decided this was the best name to reflect who we are and what we stand for.
The Welsh word for ‘home’ – Adra – came about when discussing the idea of a place where one feels a belonging. We wanted a name that could reflect Adra as an idea of a place you want home to be, the place where one feels a connection to. We are not just about the bricks and mortar, but we also create homes and communities where you can feel at home. A new name and rebranding will better reflect our vision and our future journey.
Our new corporate plan is an opportunity to take a good look at where we are going as a company. Following a series of focus groups, which included tenant representatives, the strong message from our tenants, partners and staff was that we are doing good work, but there was confusion around who we were. Many still thought we were Gwynedd Council.
From 8th October CCG will no longer be the name of the company.
We will be known from this date onwards as Adra. All correspondence from us relating to tenancies and everything else, including rent letters, will be from Adra and not CCG. All tenants will be informed of this before 8th October. We want to keep on improving the services we offer so that it is easier to do business with us. There will be no change to your tenancy terms or to the services we offer. We will have a new modernised website, as well as a tenant portal which will make it easier for you to communicate with us and access our services in your own time. All our letterheads, signage, van livery, staff uniforms, printed materials, documents and our office livery will change to reflect the new branding.
